The electric bike credit gets slashed again!
The original Build Back Better proposal included a 30% tax credit for the purchase of a new electric bike in the US to make it easier for Americans to replace their car travel with a bike. In the end, it was eliminated before the bill was passed.
More recently, the Inflation Reduction Act set aside more than $300 billion dollars for clean energy and climate improvement. The bill has expanded tax credits for solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, and yes, even electric cars. What about electric bikes? No.
Electric Bike tax credit gets cut, even though electric bikes would have a greater impact on the environment than electric cars. What will it take to get politicians to recognize what electric bikes can do for our communities?
